... and as the title suggest, I have Awakened from a deep and dark heart-brokened state of mind

I have been in that state ever since we parted ways for good 6 months ago. I crawled back to my coffin and so slept and continued the routines of life ... and during this sleep, I dreamt about the past a lot, about her, about what I've done, and things I've should've done, and things I'm about to do. Thus waking up to this new found reality that I'm in ... I'm beginning to see things at a different light ... at a new perspective ... and life seems so fascinating at this age of time

That I now hunger for it again ... I hunger for an Audience

E-mails ... E-mails ... E-mails ... more junk mails clogging your in-box
Without fail we receive or have to deal with e-mails everyday ... either work related, or those funny/annoying forwards your friends seem to send you, whether you want it or not ... and this doesn't include all those Facebook notifications, subscription mails, spam and etc that just seem to clog up your Inbox every day.
It's come to the point that my daily routine now consist of logging into my Inbox and just deleting the mails that I receive ... I have stopped looking forward to receiving e-mails anymore, as most of the fwd mails seem to be recycled from one friend to another, and have been circulating the net like some stale joke.
I have some friends who seem to forward me nothing at times ... just a bunch of e-mail addresses of former receipient of the mail as the main attachment has gone missing along the way. I also have friends whom are over zealous and send me mails that we've received from a mutual friend ... I'm not sure, why but they seem to desperately make sure I need to have that mail in my inbox. It's almost life and death at times, as they send me the same e-mail a couple of times, making sure I got it !!!
For those of you under this category ... do take the time to read this, 5 Rules for Forwarding Email, it's an article on how to forward mail properly ... or perhaps I'll just forward it to you one of these days :P
I've also come to realize that it's been a long time since I myself even wrote a proper e-mail to friends, though it's hard too with me being online almost 24/7 and communicating with them using MSN Instant Messenger. Thus the need to send an e-mail, or write something is kinda weird ... as the more likely response towards my mail from the receiver would be in a form of an instant message popping up on my desktop saying ... "Dei, Are you High ?"
As funny as that may sound, I actually did receive such a responce after sending a couple of e-mails to friends prior to this posting. Somehow, it prompted me to send more mails after that ... just to see their reactions and replies that I would get.
It was just like the good old days :P
So if you receive an e-mail from me ... I'm not High ... I just thought of writing to you, and would appriciate if you could take the time and write back as well ... and not just forward me something I already have :)

At The Zoo ...

I was off today, and it was raining in the morning ... ah, what joy to be in bed. I woke up late ... close to 11, since I had the day off ... I thought I'll see what Caz was doing, perhaps meet her for dinner or something. So sms'd her ... and she said she wasn't working today, but she's off to KLCC to get a book ... to get some fresh air. Then she asks me if I would like to go to the Zoo.

Right the Zoo ... I admit, wasn't too keen on going, as it was raining and it was the Zoo. So me being me ... suggested a movie. She said the rain had stopped and a movie would be fine too. Then we made plans to meet up at KLCC ... Then figured ... hmm, it's been some time since I actually went to the Zoo as well ... it might be interesting to check out the animals and nature

So I called Duncan up, and asked him how's the weather in KL, and if he thinks going to the Zoo would be good idea now. He laughed and told me to bring an umbrella just in case ... but the zoo would be better choice then a movie. So on the way there ... told Caz that we would be going to the Zoo instead, since it's stopped raining as well. She was happy.

So picked her up, She looked beautiful as she wore this lovely top and a pair of jeans :)

We then made our way to the Zoo ... while driving there we got to talking and I found out a lot about her ... and the reason she wanted to get some fresh air as well. So told her not to worry and things will turn out for the better.

We arrived at our destination shortly ... ZOO NEGARA ... I must say, things have certainly changed since the last time I came, which might like 15 years ago :P

Any case, we got our tickets ... and went in to check the animals ... we started off with the Snakes. Most of the Snakes were in-active ... expect for this pair of green Whip Snakes which were moving around and about ...

Sadly I couldn't find the Black Mamba hybrid Spitting Cobra ... Perhaps it was for the best too :P

After that we moved on to this Monitor Lizard ... It was a huge lizard, that you probably could put a leash on and play fetch with.

Next were at the the Flying Foxes (Fruit Bats) enclosure ... yes, relatives :P ... It's relatively a big walk in cage by the way which was cool. However, Caz was more interested in the searching for the Mousedeer, which also was within the same enclosure ... however, didn't manage to find any ... though I have my suspicions that the Bats ate him up ... hahahha

We walked around quite a bit ... saw the Giraffe's and the Elephants ...

Then the Stocks by the lake, and the birds in the cages, before hearing the big cats roar ... Caz got excited as we were nearing the Lions and Tigers. As I found out, she loves Tigers, and considers them the real King of the Jungle ... hmm ... a Tigress herself perhaps ? ;)

We sat down by the nearby bench just watching the Tigers move ...

3-4 Hours had past, and we decided to call it a day ... I honestly had a great time, the fresh air after the rain, the walk, the animals, and just being with her ... and she made me feel like a kid again by buying me Ice-cream ... yummy !!!

The new year has just Ended ... and so must I.

Why ?

Looking back on what I've done seems Depressing, since I think should / could have achived and done much more ... much much more. I've let myself be haunted by the Past, Dreaming and hoping that everything will work out for the better sooner or later. The few lessons that I've learnt last year alone has changed my perspective in life ... nothing last forever, everything changes ... thus, I've decided to evaluate and re-invent myself once again, perhaps even a drastic change from the usual norm, routine that I have been so comfortable with.

Perhaps this can be considered a New Year Resolution of some sort, though it goes much deeper than that.

I've decided to take a couple of things much more Seriously, for instance the couple of personal projects that I have been delaying for quite some time, most of them are websites which could actually provide me with a second income if managed properly. Then there's my blogs, which I should start updating more often ...

As most of you might have expected, I stopped going to the gym months ago ... and the only 6-pack I have is labeled Guinness. So yeah, it's time to get in shape as well.

With the current Economic situation, it's time to start saving up seriously. Also plans of getting my own place within this year, or the next would require a strong bank account as well, where most of it would be spent furnishing and fixing up the place.

Another thing to be doing this year is some Traveling, or at least venture out to places I've not been before around KL ... like a to restaurants or pubs, an event or party maybe, perhaps even visit some temples or churches. OK ... the last bit might have been pushing it, but it's an option I'm not crossing out.

Last but not least would be to be more Socially Active, keep in touch with old, long lost friends, start meeting new people ... making connections since these days, it's all about knowing the right people to get things done.

So I guess this pretty much sums up what I need to be doing this year ... perhaps I'll add more stuff once I get my self in order.

She called ... and I went

I had just completed the Training Documentation, mailed it to the Boss, he had a look at it ... and amazingly, he loved the idea that I had created it like a website, instead of the normal boring word documents that has been done before. Yes ... in the spotlight once again ... somehow, being in the spotlight means more work ... as now, I'm in charge of setting an official training website for it ... the full works ... Yippee !!!

Time to Celebrate, so I called Her to see if she was free ... unfortunately, she was in Malacca, having dinner and a couple of drinks with her batch mate ... so guess the celebration has to wait. So I get back to my desk, fiddle around with the computer and before I know it ... it's almost 11 pm. Time to get back.

My handphone starts to ring, and it's Her on the line ... It's HER on the line !!! ... So I answer the call, speak to her awhile and she wants to know if I'm still up for that drink earlier, and has this crazy idea of me driving down all the way to Malacca to drink with her at 11 pm. I told Her that it was insane, cause I'm not driving 1 and a half hours for a drink, and by the time I even get there, it's gonna be like 12 midnight and most of the places would be close, and you'll need to get back home to sleep ... yeah that would knock some sense in to her.

Unfortunately ... All the Logic in the World just didn't matter much when it comes to her ... all She had to do was ask once again, and I found myself driving to Malacca at a 150 kmph that night. Amazingly I reached there in one piece, and I manage to reach there around 12:45 am, prior to the heavy rain, getting lost and making a couple of wrong turns ... I had made my way there ... where She was waiting.

We then got a couple of drinks and food and what ever happened that night was beautiful ... well, then again ... any night with her around is beautiful. oh well ... the things I do for Her

Datukship's Gone Wild

My usual coffee before work was too hot, so I decided to read the newspapers, to catch up on the recent hot topics and current events around such as ... Anwar's attempt for a New Malaysia, Raja Petra's detention by the ISA, The Petrol Price issue ... wondering what Samy Vellu is up to these days ( you gotta admit, it's kinda boring without him around since he was one of the funniest politician's ever ) ... but the next article would probably be the hottest topic today. I even nearly spilled my coffee after reading this in The Star today ... "Datukship for Shah Rukh Khan" ... wtf ?

After putting the coffee down, I discovered that the Datukship was given by the Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob of Melaka to commemorate his 70th Birthday. Why is Shah Rukh Khan being awarded with a Datukship again ? ... well, because he apparently promoted Melaka, in one of his movies / songs which was shot in A Famosa Resort, Alor Gajah in 2001 ... which indirectly promoted tourism in Melaka.

Hmm ... sounds logical, as logical as believing that this 70 year old might just be senile instead. But whatever the reason was ... it certainly got many people shocked and disappointed over the move, as there are still so many other well deserving individuals that had done far more for the community and yet have not been recognized for their efforts.

Individuals such as M. Magendran and N. Mohandas who were the first Malaysian's to climb to the summit of Mount Everest in 97 ... Karamjit "The Flying Sikh" Singh who had won many Asian Rally Championships and even put Proton on the Rally scene ... then we have Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh whom never fail to keep the Government in check ... It's people like these that actually make us Malaysian's proud, as these people had achieved their accomplishments on their own effort, and without much support from current government.

Seriously, if you look at the recent "Datukships" that were given out ... especially to "Space Tourist" Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor ... Badminton player Lee Chong Wei ... and a few others before such as Actress Michelle Yeoh and Sailor Azhar Mansur ... All of them as ridiculous as they may sound ... at least they were of Malaysian heritage, and perhaps did give some publicity to Malaysia in their own way ... but to give the title of "Datuk" to Shah Rukh Khan is just plain screwed up. Some how or rather, over the years, the "Datuk" title just lost it's value and I think it just hit rock bottom today.

Unfortunately, I dont think we've seen the worst ... Imagine the following and possible "Datuks" in the near future

Datuk Ajit - for the movie Billa

Good News for all Comedy Court fans out there ... there's a DVD out now for those that couldn't go see them perform. The DVD is said to include 15 Hilarious Tracks and 2 Hours of Non-Stop Comedy ... and all for only RM 30.00. I'm not sure if the DVD is in stores ... but from the website, it says that you can only get it from Optima Innovations website ( click here )

God of War

Yes, I've finally finished God of War ... Yes, I know it's an old game, It's just that I never did ~~have~~ make time to play it until very recently, when I found myself purchasing God of War II. As I watched the intro to God of War II, I had this re-newed interest in the game again ... thus sealing my fate as Kratos. Before starting on the second installation of the game, I decided to start on the first ... for obvious reasons of course.

I was pretty impressed with the graphics of the game as it was really good, and detailed ... especially the lighting on the "Blades of Chaos". The gameplay and storyline were excellent as it kept the player challenged with puzzles and massive slaughter ... not to mention the occasional half nude women in the game ... quite challenging indeed, especially when you have to decide either to continue to the next level or to replay the whole scene again ;)

All in all it was a great game ... and you get to watch all the cut-scenes in the movie again once you've completed it ... so that should make some decision making in the game easier ;)

Anywayz for a better review, and screen shots of the game ... you might want to check out IGN: God of War instead.

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave Emergencies. Your Mobile Phone can actually be a Life Saver or an Emergency Tool for Survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

FIRST
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile Networks is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly enough this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND
Have you locked your keys in the Car? Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a Mobile Phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the sparekeys are at Home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

THIRD
Hidden Battery PowerImagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your mobile will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time.

FOURTH
How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06# and A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, yourphone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

COMDATOR - A New System

My old system finally gave way after 3-4 years, not sure why or how ... but I'm guessing the mobo ( motherboard ) just gave way ... which left me no choice but to either get a whole new system ... or upgrade. Seeing that I was working on a budget of $1500 ... I naturally chose to upgrade. Unfortunately, with my old system being too old ... I couldn't find a direct replacement mobo or something which I was satisfied with ... thus, had to replace it with a more current board, which eventually had me replacing the Processor, RAM, Graphics Card and since I was replacing all those ... I thought might as well throw in a Hard Disk in the list.

With that in mind ... I started to check and research on the mobo's and graphics card that were within budget ... and came up with the specifications below

wtf ! ... this looks like a new system already doesn't it ? yeah well ... added that to my current items on my old system ... and I have a decent Work/Gaming System, which hope would last me another 3 years :)

Manya Blogger Awards ...

Putera MIC apparently is organizing one Manya Blogger Awards ... which I found interesting as they had their hearts in the right place, just that their heads might have been up their ass when they planned the event. Due to that, it seems that this is just another publicity stunt pulled off by Putera MIC ...

So below is a comment that I had posted not too long ago, which at the moment is still pending approval. Though I doubt it would be approved since what I said might ruffle up a few feathers, and make people question more ... thus, I've decided to post it here as well, and hopefully get some traffic when someone googles up "Manya Blogger Awards" ;)

So much for Freedom of Speech ...

Award for Bloggers by Putera MIC ... Interesting, and strange to see that a few bloggers are the organizers or affliated with the organizers themselves ... hmm, wonder if this would be fair, since there should be some sort of biasness ... though I'm pretty much sure it would be denied ;)

But then again, the Nominees themselves are all very close to the Organizer. So I really do wonder, would this Awards make any sense at all ... or is this all a publicity stunt by Putera MIC ?

Strangely, People have commented various things, and the organiser has said that they are aware of this, but are only gonna implement this in 2009 ... Why ? Why not in 2008 since you already know this ... why the rush ? would be that your friends (nominees) are afraid of the competition ?

I think the Organizer should have done their homework and researched more before jumping in to holding an Award :) ... but guess they are so busy with other things, they dont have time for homework and research ... makes you wonder the other projects that they do ...
to those that have commented ... here is my reply ;)

Usha - Organizers thought since you already are blogging, you didn't need another laptop :P

Super Suji - The nominees are most likely already putera mic members, before they even won ... that's how they got nominated ... you don't see any anti-government blogs in here right ?

Chumanan - There's a lot of indian bloggers ... it's just that most of them dont speak on politics or associate themselves with Putera MIC to be known. Besides ... to me, before starting an awards, one should give guidelines on ethical blogging, only then people would know what to base their vote on ...
Jordan - Sashi isn't included cause he proves to be a great threat to the nominees ...

Kate - i like your views very much ... but you can't expect much when it's run by kids without much experience in event organization. So nope ... i dont think they get it ... and i dont think they want to encourage indians to blog, since there's no mention of them setting up blogger workshops or basic guidelines or help even ... this awards scam is just to award their affliated bloggers with a cool icon so that they can put it up on their blogs, saying they won an award ...

Krish - Proganda is right, so they wish to limit and narrow it down to what they believe is right ... but i think it's more a Publicity Stunt as well, since everyone in politics is moving towards the blogging scene ... thus they believed in would be good if they could jump in the bandwagon as well ... Perhaps a few months time, they'd be also having an Awards for Best MIC Ministers Blog ... now that should be interesting ;)

Sudha - Yes, very limited coverage thanks to the organizers, and the indian bloggers who helped them, which you'll find on the nominee list. The organizer wants to restrict and doesn't want much competition this year ... they can't do it this year cause they do not have the capacity to hold a True and Fair Competition.

DJ Renz - Good Category ... and I hope the winner can also provide Putera MIC with help, since they seem to be very new to the blogging scene.

Raja - blogadda.com ... interesting

Seals - Agreed man, bloggers will be bloggers and you dont need an award for it ... and most of the good ones are Neutral, or dont associate themselves with political parties ... but as you can see ... it's not the case here :)

and last but not least ... to the Administrator, Novinthen ... I think you should talk to event consultants and also do your homework before organizing such an event ... at the moment, I do not support this event, as it seems bias and not properly addressed. "RM 2.70 per litre ? are you sure ? but the increase was only gonna be in August what ?" ... that was the first things I remember saying ... wait ... oh yeah ... I said "Oh Fuck the World !!!" first actually, after knowing of the fuel price increase that's effective June 5th onwards from Sujieta on msn ... and later from the kids at work too.

Once the news got around within the office, everyone was restless and wanting to leave early, so that they could go fill up their tanks and perhaps save a few bucks ... and with the current increase, I wouldn't blame them since it was a lot of bucks they would be saving. Since I had still a balance of half a tank in the car ... I wasn't in a hurry to go que up, and burn petrol while waiting for my turn at the pump. So I decided to just walk around the office and visit the small groups of people that were bitching bout the current situation, mainly regarding the Fuel Hike, the Government and if I'll ever reach 175 kmph again ... err ... "Oi !!!"

Anyways, a few of the interns / part timers mentioned that the Petronas station in Cyberjaya was packed, and the que had actually overflowed to the main street ... which caused a massive jam. After hearing this, some of the guys decided to source for alternative petrol stations, such as the very quiet Esso station located in Sri Kembangan. "Not many pour Esso what" ... but at that moment, it suffered the same situation every petrol station in the country suffered.

Some petrol stations also claimed to be out of petrol after just a few hours of the annoucement. With everyone filling their tanks up to the brim ... some even brought empty water bottles to be filled up with fuel. So it would have been possible that the station ran out of fuel ... or could also be that the owner of the station decided to close early to rake up a bigger profit the next day ... well, we'll never know for sure would we ?

Roughly around 11pm, I finished work and was headed back home ... so thought I'd check out the situation at the Petronas in Cyberjaya. As informed earlier, the que of cars overflowed to the main street. I was quite Amazed ... not due to the jam it had created ... but the sight of two Petronas personnel, walking in between rows of cars, selling refreshments. Guess that's one way to handle the situation of keeping the people calm and refreshed, while maintaining a small profit out of it :)

I didn't bother to wait in que, since it was already around 11:30pm at the time, and even if I did wait, by the time I reached the pump ... I would have burned up a couple of liters of petrol, and would just be one of the very first people to pay RM 2.70 per liter ... so decided to just head back home. On the drive back, my Dad gives me a call, asking me if I could get a pack of cigarrettes for him on the way back. So just as I finished the call, noticed this Shell Station on my right which was quiet, but then again, it was already 12:05 ... new petrol prices were effective.

Since I still needed to get cigarettes for Dad, I turned in anyways, would give me the chance to see the petrol pumps displaying the ever worrying RM 2.70 per liter. As I slowed down beside one of the pumps, I noticed that the price still displayed RM 1.92 per liter ... thus did the most logical thing to do ... Pour Petrol !!!

Walked to the counter, handed the attendant some cash, and went back to fill my car up. Then thought to myself ... I must be one lucky bastard since I had no intention of filling up, yet was able to do it without waiting in a long que and burning petrol. If my dad hadn't called me asking for cigarettes, I would probably not even turned in ... "Damn !" ... I forgot to get his cigarettes at the counter, while paying for petrol. So went back again to the counter ... got the cigarettes and drove back home with a grin on my face ... amazed by the fact

I got petrol at RM 1.92 per liter after 12:00 :P hahahah ...

Call me Snake Catcher !!!

I had just came back from work around 10:00 pm, and was hungry for dinner. Before that though, thought I'd relieve myself a little ... so went to take a piss. Before I could finish up, I noticed something on the window sill inside the bathroom ... somethin dark brown and shiny, that resembled a big worm ... wait ... that's not a worm, it's a SNAKE !!!

At that point, my heart stopped and my balls shrank ... 0 to peanut in 5 seconds flat. I called out to my dad in the living room saying there's a snake in the bathroom. And in no time at all, I noticed everyone gathered around the bathroom ... hmm, everyone's pretty fast today huh ?

Anyways, Dad had examined the situation, and through his experience and too much National Geography, said that the Snake was harmless and these types move slow. The Snake, was about half a meter long, a width bout a centimeter and was brownish black in color ... yes, it was a little baby snake ... but when your taking a piss and it's almost head level with you ... it's a whole different story ...

Anyways, Dad said that we could just gently hook it and place it in a pail to be taken out of the house. So we got a pail, a rod and fashioned a hook out of an old metal hanger which was attached to the rod. We then placed the pail right underneath the Snake, in case we didn't manage to hook it, we could just push or pull it so it falls in the pail ...

Sounded like a good idea at the time ... until the part where I tried to hook it, and it fell on the bathroom floor ... and in no time at all, it dashed to the corner of the bathroom. All half meter of brownish black serpent coiled up to an attacking stance ... it's head was pointed up, like a cobra, and it's tail started to rattle like a rattle-snake ... what the ? ... what happened to it being slow ?

There goes dad's theory of the Snake being slow, and if he was wrong bout that ... Can he be wrong about it being harmless as well ? Didn't have much time to think since it was hissing away in it's Cobra Rattlesnake hybrid attacking stance ... oh fuck, I think I made it angry now.

Somehow closed all possible exits and managed to keep it at bay for awhile. Dad finanlly created my new weapon ... a rod with a noose on it, which should be able to tie and hold on to the Snake in position. Once that was done ... I went at it again

As I was gently trying to get the noose over it's head ... swoosh ... it darted over the other side, and started hissing at me again ... again I tried and it darted to the other corner. Finally, I told myself ... I'm suppose to be the Black Mamba Spitting Cobra Hybrid, thus catching this snake should be simple ... and I went at it again ... swoosh ... bugger escaped again ... but wait, it's coilling itself on to the rod.

Hahaha ... I guessed I managed to get the noose tightened just in time for it's body to get caught in it. So as it coiled itself on to the rod, my brothers had already opened the main door ... so in a quick pace, I walked towards the door ... went out and to the edge of the hill near my house, which had lost of bushes with wild plants growing everywhere. I used to remember climbing down these hills like 5 years ago, and if you asked me to climb down there now ... I'd probably go "Are you crazy ? You dont know what monster might be in those bushes !!!"

Well, we left the snake there, and watched it slither away in to the darkness ... This whole even took bout an hour or so ... and I thought to myself ... damn I'm hungry.

Strangely enough, this caught my attention in today's paper ... UiTM to start Blogging Courses ... what the ... ? am I reading this correctly ?

In any case, yeah ... it's true, UiTM is indeed gonna be offering blog courses to somehow create better bloggers. Not really sure how they would accomplish this, or how the course structure is gonna be like, but all the best to them ... and those taking up the course. Hmm ... Would you get an A+ if your blog reaches 100 Views in a Day ? and Would it be called BoB ( Bachelor of Blogging ) ? hahahha

Perhaps this Course is to cater to the recent mushrooming of blogs by ministers in the country. After a couple of months or so, when they graduate with a BoB ... they can go write blogs for the ministers in the government, as it's now the latest trend in politics ... wonder what happened to the old fashioned way of doing good deeds and helping people out to get noticed ?

Oh well ... Malaysia Boleh ;)

UiTM to start Blogging Courses

SHAH ALAM: Malaysians interested in blogging may soon be able to take up courses on the subject at Universiti Teknologi Mara. Its vice-chancellor, Datuk Seri Prof Dr Ibrahim Abu Shah, said the university was ready to help prospective bloggers become more credible in their reporting.

He said blogging was different from traditional media, which required reporters to have academic qualifications. "Anyone can become a blogger now," he told reporters after a seminar here yesterday. But this did not mean bloggers could write about anything, as they first needed to master several aspects of writing, such as language, ethics and accuracy of reporting.

Ibrahim said he supported any proposal to offer courses on blogging and that it was the most suitable time to do so. "We know bloggers are intelligent, but we want to help them be more professional."

Earlier in his speech, Ibrahim said the function of traditional media had changed with the arrival of new media, which he said focused more on the younger generation. He added that people saw new media as an avenue through which they could express themselves and speak their minds.

As most of you know, talking about Politics isn't my cup of tea ... but recently, Sujita had asked me Advice and Designing tips to update WantedGal Corporation ... a personal blog in which She expresses herself, and currently it's towards her views on Malaysian Politics.

Which got me thinking about Political Bloggers, or blogs that contain purely political content. How does one perceive these blogs to be ? As a forum for one to express their views and concerns over the People and Community, over the Government, over the Country ... or would it be the next political weapon ? ... to spread Political Propaganda and the Faults of the Opposing Parties or Government for that matter, just to create a stir within the country.

Guess only the bloggers themselves know this answer and the real motives behind their blogs ...

As for me ... I dont concern myself too much with Politics, as it seems that no matter who's in power, the same thing is gonna take place ... it's just someone else that's taking the bite out of the Cake. Ans since I've yet to see a Politician that doesn't like Cake ... I think I'd stick to being Neutral.

On another note ... I've been asked as a favour to design a blog template which would be used by Avenue of Expressions ... an upcoming political blog. Although I've not yet had the chance to meet the Person whom this blog is intended for, I've had the pleasure of meeting his daugther ... and I would say ... She is a remarkable person indeed.

Though I've not much experience in blog template designing ... I managed to come up with something (click to view template) which would perhaps need to be re-Designed in the future, as I'm not too keen on the Layout Design or Graphics being used ... but then again, it's gonna take me some time to really come up with killer original blog template.

Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would rather be an emasculated, infantile complainee. This note should be pretty easy to understand. All the warnings from the punk rock 101 courses over the years. Since my first introduction to the, shall we say, ethics involved with independence and the embracement of your community has proven to be very true. I haven't felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music along with reading and writing for too many years now. I feel guilty beyond words about these things. For example when we're backstage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowd begins it doesn't affect the way in which it did for Freddy Mercury who seemed to love and relish in the love and adoration from the crowd. Which is something I totally admire and envy. The fact is I can't fool you. Any one of you. It simply isn't fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to put people off by faking it and pretending as if I'm having 100 % fun. Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch in time clock before I walk out on stage. I've tried everything within my power to appreciate it, and I do. God, believe me I do but it's not enough.

I appreciate the fact that I and we have affected and entertained a lot of people. I must be one of one of those narcissists who only appreciate things when they're gone. I'm too sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasm I once had as a child. On our last three tours I've had a much better appreciation for all the people I've known personally and as fans of our music, but I still can't get over the frustration, the guilt and empathy I have for everyone. There's good in all of us and I think I simply love people too much. So much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad little, sensitive, unappreciative, pisces Jesus man! Why don't you just enjoy it? I don't know. I have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy and a daughter who reminds me too much of what I used to be.

Full of love and joy kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function. I can't stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable self-destructive, death rocker that I've become. I have it good, very good, and I'm grateful, but since the age of seven I've become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along, and have empathy. Empathy! Only because I love and feel for people too much I guess. Thank you all from the pit of my burning nauseous stomach for your letters and concern during the past years. Perhaps ... but I had enough "force" to tell me to check out ToyWorkers today, to check if there's anything new in the shop. And yes ... the new Tranformers Animated line was in, and a few other Transformers Movie Star Wars merchandise which had been re-stocked. However, one item that really caught my eye was the Darth Vader Voice Changer Mask ... which I had been searching for since I first saw it at Toy's R Us a couple of years back ...

So called up James of ToyWorkers, and placed an order for one ... told him that I'd be collecting it tonight. Excited ... walked over to my Supervisor, Santhia, told her bout it ... and she got excited too ... and asked me to place an order for Kumar (Satan), her husband. Now ... why can't I find a girlfriend that would do that for me ...

Anyways, left work on the dot and rushed over to ToyWorkers to collect the masks ... and something amazing just happened ... just as I entered, I saw the last Transformers Movie Premium Iron Hide on sale, but the box was a little dented though. Knowing it was Santhia's favorite movie character, cause if she was a Transformer, she would be Iron Hide ... so called her up, mentioned it to her, and found myself having Iron Hide in my arms. So yeah ... the force is strong in this one allrite ...

Well, back to the Darth Vader Voice Changer ... I know I'm gonna have some serious fun with it, like ordering from the Drive-thru wearing it ... hmm ... hopefully soon I'll remind myself to post the video of it ;)

Chocolate Guinness Cake

INGREDIENTS

Cake
2 cups stout (such as Guinness)
2 cups (4 sticks) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-process)
4 cups all purpose flour
4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 large eggs
1 1/3 cups sour cream

Icing
2 cups whipping cream
1 pound bittersweet (not unsweetened) or semisweet chocolate, chopped

PREPARATION

For cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter three 8-inch round cake pans with 2-inch-high sides. Line with parchment paper. Butter paper. Bring 2 cups stout and 2 cups butter to simmer in heavy large saucepan over medium heat. Add cocoa powder and whisk until mixture is smooth. Cool slightly.

Whisk flour, sugar, baking soda, and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt in large bowl to blend. Using electric mixer, beat eggs and sour cream in another large bowl to blend. Add stout-chocolate mixture to egg mixture and beat just to combine. Add flour mixture and beat briefly on slow speed. Using rubber spatula, fold batter until completely combined. Divide batter equally among prepared pans. Bake cakes until tester inserted into center of cakes comes out clean, about 35 minutes. Transfer cakes to rack; cool 10 minutes. Turn cakes out onto rack and cool completely.

For icing:
Bring cream to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. Remove from heat. Add chopped chocolate and whisk until melted and smooth. Refrigerate until icing is spreadable, stirring frequently, about 2 hours.

Place 1 cake layer on plate. Spread 2/3 cup icing over. Top with second cake layer. Spread 2/3 cup icing over. Top with third cake layer. Spread remaining icing over top and sides of cake.

Servings: Makes 12 servings

Our usual weekend nights out, or nights out drinking ... sometimes turns out to be amazingly spontaneous and crazy ... and the video below proves just that.

How we ( Duncan, Ka Wyn, and myself ) came about doing this video was, that we just had one too many drinks that night, that after our game of pool at Asia Cafe, we got hungry and decided to get somethin to eat. Duncan then decided that he wanted to cook his own food ... perhaps to test out his culinary skills, and to prove a point to us ... what point that was, we didn't know, didn't care ... we were drunk !!!

In any case, Duncan started chatting up with the Indo-Mee stall guys, cool guys cause they actually let Duncan fry an egg without much thought. Of course, we ordered the food and it came with the egg Duncan fried. Ka Wyn and myself had to test if the food was edible or not. We laughed bout it ... and thought it was the dumbest thing ever ... Duncan fryin an egg ... and joked bout it being a new tv show. Apparently that idea struck us hard, and it got drunk serious, we actually started discussing on what to cook next and that it needed to be recorded professionally and stuff.

So, Duncan then decided to go to the western food stall in Asia Cafe, I followed being the cameraman, and the background voice in the video. Duncan manage to convince the owner of the stall that we were college students doing a show / presentation of good places to eat in Subang Jaya for the college student here. I have no idea how he came up with that ... but the owner bought it and we were recording Duncan making Fish & Chips.

New Year Resolution ... Getting Fit

Since the last resolution didn't work out ... I'd thought I better get on to the next one as soon as possible. Which would be getting fit this year ... since basically I'm a walking skeleton. And with the recent frequent drinking sessions ... I think I'm gonna be developing a tummy soon ... so that being the case I started doing some pushups and sit-ups before going to sleep.
Yeah, as you may have guessed ... results were not as expected since it was only hour workout before bed without any real sweating involve. Err .... somehow that sounded wrong :P
Anyways, back to topic ... I received a call from True Fitness saying that they got my number from a friend of mine ( thanx Ka Wyn ) ... who thought I might be interested in enrolling myself in a gym, so they wanted to set an appointment so that they could give me a tour and tell me about the gym and the facilities and services that they offer. Wasn't too keen at first ... but thought why not since I've got nothing to lose right.
So made the appointment and found myself standing in front of True Fitness in USJ Taipan at 12:00 in the afternoon today ...

Like every franchise gyms out there ... it had that active gym like ambience and it was huge, as it was a 3 storey building packed with gym equipment and workout studios. Walked in to the reception and told the counter that I have an appointment with Ms. Hilwa, whom was the voice behind the call yesterday. Was then asked to wait at the lounge and after a couple of minutes ... she came out and introduce herself ... and gave a brief introduction and a tour around the place.

The Tour was quite interesting as you get to actually test out some of the equipments there. Then was shown around to the different types of sections they had inside the gym ... like where the Yoga classes are held, the locker rooms, where the sauna & steam rooms are. The we arrived at one of the workout studios ... and at the time they were having a dance class inside. Yes, a Dance Class. Apparently the gym also offers classes in a 1-2 hour time frame that caters to your liking ... and they have your usual group workouts, dance classes and suprisingly self defence class. Though I dont believe that this classes would be better then a specific dance class or self defence class ... but it's free and you hav an option from the boring workout alone.

Apparently this tour ends with a Free Assessment Test on how fit you are and the exercises you need to be concentrating on. So the results ... suprinsingly enough, came out that I have 36% Fat ... High Blood Pressure ... and my every body part needs a work out. Somehow I found this funny since I'm a walking bag of bones ... and I've been holiday for almost 3 weeks now and of course my body needs a workout ... if it doesn't, I wouldn't be here in the first place :P

Guess this was one of their marketing strategies to actually have people getting worried even more on their health by scaring them with fat percentages and saying their BP is high ... and if they dont work out soon ... they might just get a stroke and die. Eh ? Doubt that would happen to me, since I've got a better chance of getting killed in a car crash.

In any case, I signed up for the gym as we would all agree that I need a little more meat and a whole lot of muscle. So hopefully by the end of the year I would have a little more meat and a whole lot of muscle ... and of course able to Salsa and do some cool Capoiera moves too

Another one got caught today, it's all over the papers. "Teenager arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering"... Damn kids. They're all alike.

But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950's technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker ? Did you ever wonder what made him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him? I am a hacker, enter my world ... Mine is a world that begins with school ... I'm smarter than most of the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me ... Damn underachiever. They're all alike.

I'm in junior high or high school. I've listened to teachers explain for the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. "No, Ms. Smith, I didn't show my work. I did it in my head ..." Damn kid. Probably copied it. They're all alike.

I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me ... Or feels threatened by me ... Or thinks I'm a smart ass ... Or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here ... Damn kid. All he does is play games. They're all alike.

And then it happened ... a door opened to a world ... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought ... a board is found. We've been dominated by sadists, or ignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us willing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert.

I think my first and only resolution for this year would be to stay Accident Free. Since the last couple of years I've been through some pretty bad accidents which left me without a car for weeks if not months. Thus this year I plan to be a better and more safer driver ... take note I never said anything bout keeping to the speed limit :P so dont go bugging me bout why I'm driving fast and all ...

In any case ... the new year resolution of staying accident free includes any form of accident that requires to the workshop ... dents and paint scratches ... and any form of interior damaging.

And one would think things will go on smooth, and even if anything should ever happen, it would be like months from now. Oh ... How I was dead wrong ... cause some Dumbass had to ruin my 4 day accident free run this year.

And the story goes :
I was driving back home with my brother after we did a little shopping, getting stationaries since the school year had began. I entered my housing area, and saw this blue 4x4 Isuzu Trooper trying to come out of the junction in front of the row of shops wanting to exit the housing area. So this guy ... I assumed saw my car, since he stopped from making a dash to get to my opposite lane ... So I basically did just continued along my lane not slowing down. As I passed the junction and his 4x4 ... bang ... he hit me ... the back left hand corner near my tank cap.

I slammed on the brakes and thought to myself ... "Fuck, not my Car" ... then checked on my brother to see if he was ok ... and I horned and got out of the car. When I got down, he was like 4 to 5 cars away, and he stopped ... but then took off when he saw me out of the car completely.

No way in hell are you gonna run from me, so I got in my car ... reversed and made a U-turn and chased after the guy. So I drove till I was at the main road ... since that's the last I saw the guy turn, as since there was quite a number of cars ... I could still manage to see where he was going or which road he was using.

Ah my luck ... He turned left, must be heading towards Subang, Puchong or the Highway. But as the roads were fully congested with cars ... I'd probably get stuck and lose his tracks, thus I reverse and entered the housing area ... the inner road which later on connects to the main road he was headed. I manage to see the guy just after I got on to the main road ... and saw him stop in front of another car at the traffic lights. So stopped beside him ... by slamming the brakes, causing the tires to screech. Told my brother to take a photo of the guys plate number ... and I got out my car, when to his driver's side and pounded on his window a couple of times before asking him to come out.

The guy came out and started apologizing, but I couldn't care less ... Told him what he was thinking trying to hit me and attempting to run away ... screwed him and brought him over to the car and showed his handy work and what his answer would be to settle the damages. He again apologized and told that he'd pay me 200 bucks as settlement. I checked the damages and they was a slight dent and but mainly paint scratches that can be polished off.

After awhile ... decided to accept his offer, and didn't ask for more since I figured he might be a with the police or have police connections ... since his 4x4 plate number had those police insignia's on it ... but that didn't stop me from screwing him somemore. As we got back to his 4x4 for him to give me the money ... the dumbass had the cheek to tell me that his out of town and if he needed to pay or not. Basically he just asked for it ... told him that he if he didn't just speed off earlier ... and waited and talked this out like normal adults ... I would have negotiated, but since you tried to escape and thought you can run away ... be thankful it's only 200 bucks and not some beating up.

He handed me the money, apologized again and I took off ... and found that while all this was going on ... other car passengers were looking and perhaps hoping for some fight to break out or something. Well ... might have if he tried to act tough and not admitting to his mistake.

It was an interesting car chase ... and luckily the paint scrathes came off with some polishing but the dent is still there ... though not so noticeably, you'd see it as a fine line running away from the tank cap. It's a livable dent ... so dont think I'd run to the shop anytime soon ... infact perhaps only fix that when I get the bodykits and do a color re-spray on the car in the future.

*sigh* ... there goes one resolution down the drain

Must Love Dogs

It's one of those movies that I'd probably never watch ... but somehow I found myself wondering why I never did watch it. Honestly, I'd probably wouldn't have watched it either, if not for this lazy afternoon with nothing good on TV. But I was wrong ... there was something good on TV ... it was this movie, "Must Love Dogs" ... and from that 5 minute channel scan, I ended up watching it till the end.

The movie apparently has nothing to do about Dogs, except perhaps that dogs were used to get the main characters introduced to each other. The movie however runs along the lines of Online Dating and finding the true meaning of Love, even after a heart break.

Something I guess am very much accustomed too ... which is probably why I found myself a little emotional after watching the movie. My mind couldn't help but to think of Sulo, how we met online, and finally in person ... how we got along instantly and how she affected me so much ... changed me to be a better person ... and the movie quote "She was a unique constellation of attributes; she was my Halley's comet" was exactly what she was to me. The similarities were somehow there ... of course instead of dogs ... it was pool for us. Somehow ... there wasn't a happy ending in my story ... or perhaps the happy ending hasn't come yet. So I guess I'll just keep waiting.

Another movie quote which I found quite interesting ... About the theory on why we need to deal with Heart Breaks ... which was said by the main character, Jake.

Jake: i think your heart grows back bigger ya know, once you get the shit beat out of you. And the universe lets your heart expand that way, cause thats the function of all this pain and heartache that you go through and you gotta go through that to come out to a better place."

P2i Movie Gathering - Transformers

Yes ... after the Transmy Transformers Movie Premier, I couldn't help myself to go watch it again ... thus organizing a company movie outing to watch Transformers was a good excuse to do so ;)

Although the turnup was quite dissappointing ... the Main Players at work were there, so we had major fun ... and after the movie ... at that very moment, my Operations Manager, Sharmeel self appointed herself ~~Optimus Prime~~ ... (Mama Prime) and a Transformer fan from then on.

Since we had so much fun during the movie ... we decided to have this Movie Gathering thingy as a monthly event. Now we'll just have to see what's movie to watch too next ... and if the company would pay for the tickets ? hmm ... that's a nice thought isn't it :)

1. Stupidity — The top of the list for Satanic Sins. The Cardinal Sin of Satanism. It’s too bad that stupidity isn’t painful. Ignorance is one thing, but our society thrives increasingly on stupidity. It depends on people going along with whatever they are told. The media promotes a cultivated stupidity as a posture that is not only acceptable but laudable. Satanists must learn to see through the tricks and cannot afford to be stupid.

2. Pretentiousness — Empty posturing can be most irritating and isn’t applying the cardinal rules of Lesser Magic. On equal footing with stupidity for what keeps the money in circulation these days. Everyone’s made to feel like a big shot, whether they can come up with the goods or not.

3. Solipsism — Can be very dangerous for Satanists. Projecting your reactions, responses and sensibilities onto someone who is probably far less attuned than you are. It is the mistake of expecting people to give you the same consideration, courtesy and respect that you naturally give them. They won’t. Instead, Satanists must strive to apply the dictum of “Do unto others as they do unto you.” It’s work for most of us and requires constant vigilance lest you slip into a comfortable illusion of everyone being like you. As has been said, certain utopias would be ideal in a nation of philosophers, but unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, from a Machiavellian standpoint) we are far from that point.

4. Self-deceit — It’s in the “Nine Satanic Statements” but deserves to be repeated here. Another cardinal sin. We must not pay homage to any of the sacred cows presented to us, including the roles we are expected to play ourselves. The only time self-deceit should be entered into is when it’s fun, and with awareness. But then, it’s not self-deceit!

5. Herd Conformity — That’s obvious from a Satanic stance. It’s all right to conform to a person’s wishes, if it ultimately benefits you. But only fools follow along with the herd, letting an impersonal entity dictate to you. The key is to choose a master wisely instead of being enslaved by the whims of the many.

6. Lack of Perspective — Again, this one can lead to a lot of pain for a Satanist. You must never lose sight of who and what you are, and what a threat you can be, by your very existence. We are making history right now, every day. Always keep the wider historical and social picture in mind. That is an important key to both Lesser and Greater Magic. See the patterns and fit things together as you want the pieces to fall into place. Do not be swayed by herd constraints—know that you are working on another level entirely from the rest of the world.

7. Forgetfulness of Past Orthodoxies — Be aware that this is one of the keys to brainwashing people into accepting something new and different, when in reality it’s something that was once widely accepted but is now presented in a new package. We are expected to rave about the genius of the creator and forget the original. This makes for a disposable society.

8. Counterproductive Pride — That first word is important. Pride is great up to the point you begin to throw out the baby with the bathwater. The rule of Satanism is: if it works for you, great. When it stops working for you, when you’ve painted yourself into a corner and the only way out is to say, I’m sorry, I made a mistake, I wish we could compromise somehow, then do it.

9. Lack of Aesthetics — This is the physical application of the Balance Factor. Aesthetics is important in Lesser Magic and should be cultivated. It is obvious that no one can collect any money off classical standards of beauty and form most of the time so they are discouraged in a consumer society, but an eye for beauty, for balance, is an essential Satanic tool and must be applied for greatest magical effectiveness. It’s not what’s supposed to be pleasing—it’s what is. Aesthetics is a personal thing, reflective of one’s own nature, but there are universally pleasing and harmonious configurations that should not be denied.

Transformers Masterpiece MP-05 - Megatron

Quite true indeed ... since I was indeed summoned by him, well ... maybe not him directly, but by James, from ToyWorkers. "Megatron is in Tailo". Somehow I felt Megatron was speaking through James or it could be the high fever he had the previous day. Oh well, less thought, more action ... so rushed myself to ToyWorkers in the evening, and was fortunate enough to get a mint box, since a couple of boxes were slightly damaged, white creases or dents due to delivery.

In any case, I've got my long awaited MP-05, *drool*, and it's worth every cent. Now, to find a place to display it ... but for now, I'll have it kept at work.

Below is a brief description of the MP-05 :

Transformers Masterpiece MP-05 - Megatron

Now the fun stuff: Megatron should stand at around 12" tall - equal in size to his nemesis, Masterpiece Optimus Prime. In order to get such a hefty robot, this is going to be one huge gun! Megatron will be a Walther P-38, as he should be, and will be the defining action figure version of Megatron that we've always wanted.

Megatron will include his pistol, energy sabre, energy mace, and the Kremzeek mini figure!

Transformers Masterpiece MP-04 - Convoy Optimus Prime with Trailer

I get a call in the afternoon from James, of ToyWorkers ( my regular and one of the best toy shops around ). It's always good news when he calls, and this time ... it was one of the greatest. "Tailo, your MP-04 is here already, when you wanna collect ?"

Woo hoo !!! ... finally after a month of waiting ... it's finally here !!! Collected it the very next hour, and haven't stopped smiling ever since :) ... Opened it once at the shop, to check it's contents ... and now it's back in it's box, and I guess would stay there until I could find a suitable place to display it. Until then ... my precious

Well, for those of you who have no clue of what the MP-04 is ... read below :

Transformers Masterpiece MP-04 - Convoy Optimus Prime with Trailer

In homage to Optimus Prime, the greatest of all Autobots, the 12” Masterpiece Prime is a mixture of plastic and die-cast. This is a Gen 1-style version of Prime more in line with his animated counterpart. In flat-nosed truck mode, he sports rubber wheels and working suspension. The robot mode is intricately constructed with aesthetically-camouflaged articulation, right down to the finger joints and even the minuscule range of movement allotted to the faceplate. He features an opening chest housing providing access to a replica of the Matrix of Leadership complete with transcendent blue-glowing effect. Optimus comes equipped with his bulky rifle, and additionally comes with an alternate energon axe appendage and a P-38 pistol version of Megatron complete with scope and silencer.

Presented in gift set format, Prime’s Complete Version Trailer, made of both plastic and die-cast, outwardly resembles his original trailer, complete with broad stripe and Autobot insignia. The trailer features extendable anchor platforms as well as a rear-plate entry ramp. The trailer opens vertically to reveal a mechanically-organized repair bay large enough to admit robot mode Prime in alternately horizontal or vertical position and scaled to accommodate smaller vehicle mode Autobots. The trailer interior provides weapon racks for Prime’s primary gun and additional accessories, as well as a swivel-mounted telescoping double-gun station, the latter of which is capable of external operation even with the trailer closed.

Regulars, Hip-Hoppers & Machas

We present to you the characteristics that classify the THREE major Indian groups that exist in Malaysia.

The REGULARs, The HIP-HOPPERs & The MACHAs

1) The REGULARs

Definition:
Comprises a mere 7-10% of the total population of Indians in Malaysia. Found in well-developed parts of the cities spread throughout the peninsular. None have been found in Sabah & Sarawak as yet, cause usually they'd shift to the peninsular before they hit puberty.

Characteristics include:
1. Speaks English as their 1st language.
2. Do not know how to (or just dont) speak their mother tongue.
3. Prefer to identify themselves by sub-group rather than the plain terms like malayalee, ceylonese, telugu, sikh, north indian etc.
4. Uses the internet more than the other 2 groups combined.
5. Swears off, criticises and ridicule those who watch tamil/hindi movies and/or dramas.
6. Instead, watches CNN, Travel & Living, MTV, Seinfield and other english sitcoms, and able to understand them with ease.
7. Thinks that the REGULAR group is way larger than it actually is and constantly makes fun of the other groups, in particular the MACHA group. (Why? Because it's fun!)
8. Aspires to be a doctor. Those who do medicine will eventually do so at UK/Australia/Manipal, but will normally end up taking more than the required 5 years to complete the degree due to excessive failure.
9. Despises Samy Vellu.

Recent studies have shown that there is a growing splinter group within the REGULARs knows as the IPWIC (Indian People With Identity Crisis). This growing sub-group is considered the elitist by some and is found to make the occasional statements like "I wish I were in the UK" and/or "This never happened when I was studying in Australia". They often speak in unidentifiable accents. The women/men of this group also prefer to date white men/women from foreign countries with the excuse that local men/women "just don't understand me". Many secretly desire to be taken away to live in a Bollywood film with a happily-ever-after ending.

2) The HIP-HOPPERs

Definition:
The 2nd major group of Indians, the HIP-HOPPERs comprises about 20-30% of the population of Indians. Normally living in urban areas of cities, the HIP-HOPPERs, as their name suggests, can never be found where they actually come from, but rather in clubs, bars, pubs etc. Many secretly desire to be like the REGULARs but just don't make the cut. Try asking a hip-hopper if he/she's a Regular, Hip-hopper or Macha. They'd say, "dei, I'ma Regular!"

The characteristics of the HIP-HOPPERs are:
1. TRY to speak English as their 1st language.
2. Their actual 1st language is Tamil.
3. Openly desire to be blacks (waddap dawg?)
4. Usually tend to start they 'english' conversation with the word "DEI"
5. Hair not in original colour
6. Think Kamalhassan is better than Rajini
7. Have unknown hand movements and slangs that are supposedly cool that supposedly go well together with their normal attire of FUBU jerseys and baggy jeans (that are more often than not bought in Petaling Street/ChowKit)
8. Are famously known to shorten their names to suit their lifestyles. ie. Sam, for Muthusamy, Amber for Ambikadevy, Van for Thaeven
9. Large quantities (almost all) found in Jalan Telawi of Bangsar (though, to be fair, many REGULAR groups are found here too, but the clothing tells them apart, you wont miss it.)
10. Love Yogi-B/Nachatra more than ChakraSonic.
11. Parents want them to be doctors. Many end up studying medicine in Russia/Ukraine because they refuse to go to India and cannot afford UK/Australia. Those who go to India may eventually switch camps to the MACHA group.
12. Despises Samy Vellu when they dont get MIED loan.

The HIP-HOPPERs major 'claim to fame' is driving out all the REGULARs (Malay, Chinese & Indian) and the white expatriates from Bangsar by large quantities, so much so that they can now call Bangsar "home". [I laughed to this sentence for a full 5mins non-stop]. Damansara & Hartamas are now like Zion for the Regulars.

3) MACHA's

Definition:
The last and largest group of Indians in the country comes from the MACHA group. Probably the most famous group, it is so well known that most Malaysians think ALL Indians are from the MACHA group. Comprising nearly 70% of the Indian population in M'sia, the MACHAS can be found in urban parts of the cities, and also in estates.

Their characteristics include:
1. Speaks Tamil as their 1st language
2. Usually think that Indians who cant speak Tamil should commit suicide
3. Sees Tamil Nadu/Madras (India) as the most happening on earth.
4. Astro at home is hardwired to Astro Vaanavil and Sun TV.
5. Worship Kollywood films. The men openly desire to be like Vijayakanth.
6. Think Vijaykanth is a better actor than Rajini.
7. A night-out will have to include a stop at any Indian shop in Brickfields.
8. The shopping haven will have to be Jalan Masjid India.
9. Know all the Tamil songs by heart and has never heard of Hitz.FM or Fly FM.
10. For men, outfit is never complete without a gold chain.
11. Women prefer to spend their life-savings on gold jewelry and gaudy sarees.
12. Half of them aspire to be doctors; the other half, their parents want them to be doctors. The bright ones become the pride of all Indians in the country when they enter UM for medicine, the less fortunate go to AIMST.
13. Most just drop-out of school and contribute to social-problem areas in the country.
14. Prefer ChakraSonic over Yogi-B/Nachatra
15. Loves Samy Vellu.
16. Klang is currently their HQ, though they operate independently in Sentul, Kajang and Sungai Petani. [note: members of the Regular and Hip-Hoppers also live in these areas, no offence]

They have been recent studies that Machas are best for work like being a bouncer, police and bodyguards. The rest are in jail.

Problems, there always will be ...

Problems, there always will be. It is never difficult. It is us that makes it seemingly so as we do not often look beyond the issue. A difficult problem sometimes need a simple solution ...

Story 1:
When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn't work at zero gravity (Ink won't flow down to the writing surface).

In order to solve this problem, it took them one decade and $12 million. They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C.

And what did Russians do ? They used a Pencil !!!

Story 2:
One of the most memorable case studies I came across on Japanese management was the case of the empty soapbox, which happened in one of Japan's biggest cosmetics companies. The company received a complaint that a consumer had bought a soapbox that was empty. Immediately the authorities isolated the problem to the assembly line, which transported all the packaged boxes of soap to the delivery department. For some reason, one soapbox went through the assembly line empty.

Management asked its engineers to solve the problem. Post-haste, the engineers worked hard to devise an X-ray machine with high-resolution monitors manned by two people to watch all the soapboxes that passed through the line to make sure they were not empty. No doubt, they worked hard and they worked fast but they spent whoopee amount to do so.

But when a rank-and-file employee in a small company was posed with the same problem, He did not get into complications of X-rays, etc but instead came out with another solution.

I still faintly remember how I first got introduced to Nirvana. It was back in '96 through a friend, Ka Wyn which used to play drums to the tune of "About a Girl" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Ever since that day I guess, I've been very much influenced by the Music, by the Grunge culture and most of all by Kurt himself. You could say that ... I'm a die-hard Nirvana fan !!!

Thus, the day was started off by listening to Nirvana's albums, mainly Nevermind and MTV's Nirvana Unplugged in New York. By the end of the day, I was left with reading Kurt's suicide note.

Guinness Cake

Guinness is Ireland's famous dark beer -- surprisingly low in alcohol and calories but rich in taste and possible health benefits (it may be called "stout" but moderate consumption won't make you that way!). The Irish give it to nursing mothers for its B vitamins and flavonoids; recent studies show a link between dark beer and the prevention of heart attacks. That said, the addition of Guinness -- or a similar dark stout -- to this lovely cake recipe gives it a special moistness and delicious Irish flavor.

Simple Solution:

Dried fruits, key ingredients of Guinness Cake, are another health plus, since they are rich in antioxidants. All in all, this is a darling of a cake.

INGREDIENTS

2/3 cup dark raisins or currants
3/4 cup dried cherries
1 1/3 cups golden raisins
1 bottle Guinness stout, or similar dark beer
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 1/4 cups self-rising flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1 pinch salt

1. Place dried fruit in a bowl and cover with Guinness. Allow to soak overnight.

2. Preheat oven to 350F. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until smooth, then beat in the eggs one at a time.

3. Strain fruit, reserving the Guinness separately. Add flour, spices, salt, and drained fruit to butter and sugar mixture. Add enough fresh Guinness to the drained stout to measure 8 fluid ounces and add to batter, mixing thoroughly to combine.

4. Grease an 8-inch cake pan and add batter, smoothing top evenly. Bake in preheated oven for about 2 hours, until the center is firm.

Serves 8.

Two Minute Management Course

Because we all need some management "Continuing Education" every once in a while:

Lesson One:
An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit on my ass like you and do nothing ?"

The eagle answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle, and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson: To be sitting on your ass and doing nothing, you must be sitting very high up.

Lesson Two:
A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my manure droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients. "The turkey pecked at a lump of manure, found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Management Lesson: Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson Three:
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, A cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out. He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Management Lessons:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut !
